Pilot 24 is quite a revolutionary product on the market of CPAP supplies and accessories. It is a power supply perfectly compatible with equipment such as the AirSense 10 or ResMed S9. The Pilot 24 battery represents a permanent backup power supply, offering you the freedom of movement and peace of mind you need while traveling, camping or being in locations without mains power. Enjoy quality oxygen therapy at required pressures even in the most remote locations with Pilot 24.

Pilot 24 Battery

Yet another great advantage of the Pilot 24 is that you can enjoy peace of mind even at home. For example, if the power is out, your equipment will not stop working when hooked to the Pilot 24. It will continue working because it receives continuous power from the external battery backup. Whenever the power is back, your oxygen equipment will continue receiving power from the main outlet. As you can easily note, Pilot 24 is indeed the most reliable source which helps you get the peace of mind you need even in your home.

Pilot 24- The Portable CPAP Battery

Pilot 24 can become your portable battery while you travel. Regardless of whether you travel by bus, car, or train you can get quality therapy everywhere. Use the Pilot 24 as your main portable backup battery and enjoy the required therapy. Pilot 24 also comes with a USB port that you can use to charge your mobile devices while on the go.

How to charge Pilot 24?

You can use the AirSense 10 or ResMed S9 power adapters in order to charge the battery. Many patients choose to use the Pilot 24 as a permanent power backup accessory. This way, you do not have to worry about possible power outages in your home, in a hotel, in a place with limited access to mains power, etc.
How long will the battery last?

The battery lasts approximately 12 hours, when you use your CPAP on a pressure setting of 10, with the humidity level off and the heated tube off. Certainly, as you use higher pressures and you also use the heated tube or the humidity function, the battery life will somewhat decrease. Once you start using your battery and your CPAP on the required settings, you will definitely see exactly how much the battery lasts with your personalized settings on the CPAP. This way, you can schedule the charging cycles accordingly.

Pilot 24 Batery:

  • Fully compatible with different portable electronic devices such as your smartphone, your camera or your tablet. Use this battery to charge all your mobile devices while on the go
  • Fully compatible with ResMed’s Airsense 10 and S9 devices
  • This is an FAA compliant accessory, which means you can take it with you while traveling by plane

The main advantages of getting a CPAP battery

Pilot 24 Dreamstation

Getting a CPAP battery compatible with your equipment is the best thing you can do. If traveling is your passion, you definitely must have such a battery which will help to ensure you always get access to quality therapy wherever you are: camping, spending a few hours at the airport, traveling long distance by car, etc. Also, in case you live in an area with quite frequent power outages, it is highly advisable to invest in such a battery. Whenever the power goes out, your machine will just continue working by getting power from your battery.

A CPAP machine completely turns off if there is a power outage. However, if you have such a battery, you can just plug in your machine to the battery and prevent any uncomfortable issues such as apneas caused by your CPAP stopping in the middle of the night because of a power outage. Plug in your device into the battery, and do not worry about any upcoming power outages. Get a good night’s sleep and wake up fully refreshed in the morning.

Using your CPAP equipment and battery on an airplane

Always make sure to contact your airline and ask a few questions. For example, you should ask what exact type of cord/adapter you would need to plug in your CPAP on a plane. You also need to get a document from your doctor that proves you need to use your CPAP therapy during flight. Don’t forget to mention that alongside your CPAP equipment you also intend to use your battery if you do not have access to a power outlet during flight.

Does insurance offer coverage for such a battery?

The majority of insurance providers consider an external CPAP battery as being a comfort feature. This means in most cases they will not provide coverage for a battery. However, the investment required for such a battery is extremely low when compared to what your entire CPAP machine cost. You can carefully check your insurance plan or call your insurer to ask whether or not such an external battery is covered.

I’m at a pressure 15, with humidity and tube temp off it only lasts 4 1/2 hours.

There must be a problem with the battery as without humidification it should last significantly longer unless it is a very old battery. If it is still under warranty I would contact the people you purchased it from for a warranty check and replacement if needed.

Mine doesn’t work, seems not to fit properly as mentioned by Kathy Jeffrey. The ResMed power light goes on for a half a second, then goes off. Is there an adaptor that needs to be used in the setup?

The Pilot 24 is a straight hookup to the AirMini and the AirSense 10. If it is not working either the battery needs charging or there is a problem with the battery and you need to contact the organization you purchased it from.

The connector that came with the battery does not connect successfully with AirSense 10. It is just different enough not to fit properly.

If that is the case you need to contact the place you purchased the battery as everyone we have seen works perfectly on the ResMed AirMini and the ResMed AirSence 10.
