Freedom V2 CPAP Battery – Battery Only
This package includes the Freedom V2 CPAP Battery, a battery
bridge cable and a detailed user manual. Please keep in mind this
package does not contain any PAP connection cables. The Freedom V2
CPAP battery only package is intended to be used as an add-on
battery, in order to bridge two batteries together for longer
lasting run time. His battery can also be used as a replacement
battery for an existing Freedom V2 CPAP Battery Kit.
You can also purchase charging accessories, which are sold
separately. Even when the AC power is not available, you can keep
your Freedom V2 battery charged and ready for use. There are three
different types of charging accessories available. These include the
Solar Charging tool (a Freedom 50W solar panel), the Auto Charging
tool (an auto charge DC cable) and the Auto Charging 150W power
inverter.
DC/DC soft switching technology and the variable voltage output
technology allow the Freedom V2 battery to power the most common PAP
devices available on the market. Battery Power Solutions makes DVC
output cables that will fit the most common PAP devices and models.
All the other PAP models can connect with the battery by using the
150W Sine Wave Inverter.
It is important to mention that the older model- original-
Freedom CPAP Battery and all its output cables are not compatible
with the Freedom V2 CPAP battery.
Freedom V2 CPAP battery run times
There are many factors that directly affect how long the battery
will power your CPAP device. Such factors include: pressure setting,
the type/model of the device, the mask fit and of course whether you
use heated humidification or not. By using a higher pressure level,
you will also need greater battery power. The same is true when
using heated humidification with your PAP device. Heated
humidification will reduce significantly the average run time of
your battery.
Safety features & warnings
Freedom V2 Battery offers maximum durability and cell protection
thanks to the aluminum alloy shell. The battery also meets all FAA
requirements, and it can be safely taken in a carry-on baggage
during your travels. BMU- Battery Management Unit- provides maximum
internal protection against overheating, under & over voltage, over
charging & over discharging, and short circuiting.
Never drop, hit or crush the battery main unit. This may
easily result in exposure of the cell contents
Never expose the battery to open flames or any other source
of high heat
Never expose the Freedom V2 battery to any type of
moisture/spills
Never disassemble the battery & do not attempt to repair it
Do not charge the battery on surfaces that are highly
flammable
Never use the battery with a unit that needs a higher
amperage than the one displayed on the battery
Perform regular checks of the battery ports and connection
cables to ensure they are intact
Important tips:
Whenever a device is connected or disconnected from the battery,
it will turn on/off automatically from the USB OUT or DC out ports.
It is highly recommended to disconnect all devices from the battery
when not in use. This will allow the battery to fully shut down.
You must press the reset/ charge level button when you connect a
device to the USB port. This will help initiating the power output.
When you press the charge level/reset button, the digital display
screen illuminates for a few seconds.
How to reset the battery: Make sure to press and hold the charge
level/reset button for approximately 10 seconds. Next you will
notice the display screen flashing two dash marks. Now it is time to
release the button and make sure to wait until the screen will go
blank. Your battery was reset successfully.
Freedom V2 Battery Charging
Your Freedom V2 battery is charged using your PAP unit or the
Freedom V2 power supply. You can connect your battery directly to
the PAP device power supply, or connect it with the help of the
Power Supply Adapter included within packaging.
Battery charge times:
2-3 hours run time at 90W
3-4 hours run time at 60W
8-9 hours run time at 20W
You can purchase separately compatible accessories that will
allow you to charge the Freedom V2 battery in your car, or charging
it via solar power.
During the charging process, it is normal that he battery is
slightly warm at the touch
The charge level of the battery is shown on the digital
display. In order to illuminate the screen ,simply press the
charge level/reset button
When the battery is at 0%, it will take some time until the
display screen will start showing a charge level.
When the display screen does not show the charge level, but
it flashes, you should disconnect the power supply and press the
charge level/reset button. In order to resume charging, just
reconnect the power supply
In order to begin the charging process, plug the power supply
into the battery DC IN port and then into the wall outlet
In case you need the Power Supply Adapter, plug it into the
battery DC IN port and then into the power supply of your PAP unit.
Dual battery charging
It is possible to bridge two batteries together for charging. If
this is the case, they will not charge simultaneously, but charging
will happen one battery at a time. When one battery is fully
charged, the next one will start charging.
In order to start dual battery charging, the first battery must
be charged at least at a level of 15%. The second battery can be at
any charge level, even fully depleted (0%).
Output Cable- Standard Connection
A various range of PAP models will connect to the Freedom V2
Battery. For this, you will need a unique Output Cable, which is
included in your Freedom V2 battery kit. When the Output Cable is
connected to the PAP, your battery will start receiving power.
Disconnect your device from the battery when not in use. This will
allow the battery to fully shut down.
Please keep in mind that the use of a heated humidifier with your
CPAP device, will significantly reduce the run time of the battery.
For maximum battery performance, disable or detach the humidifier or
the heated tubing.
Connecting two batteries together through bridging will increase
significantly the run time of your PAP device. Perform battery
bridging with the help of the Bridge Cable included in the Freedom
V2 CPAP battery box- model FDV2.
When using bridged batteries for increased performance, the
batteries will not discharge simultaneously. First battery will
start powering your PAP unit, and when it is depleted, the second
battery will overtake the powering of your device.
How to use bridged batteries:
Plug in the Bridge Cable into the DC IN port of first
battery and next into the DC out of the second battery
Plug the Output Cable into the battery DC Out port and next
into the power inlet of your PAP unit
Power Inverter
Those CPAP unit models that cannot be connected to the battery
using the unique Output Cable, can be connected using the Mobile
Power Receptacle + the 150W Sine Wave Power Inverter. How to connect
with power inverter:
Plug the Mobile Power Receptacle into the battery’s DC OUT
port
Plug the Power Inverter into the Mobile Power Receptacle
Plug your CPAP unit power supply cord into the Power
Inverter
In the event of a power outage, it is possible to set up your V2
CPAP battery as an uninterrupted battery backup. Whenever AC power
is available, your device will be powered normally. In case AC power
is unavailable, the battery instantly recognizes this and will start
powering your PAP unit.
Your Freedom V2 Battery features a Quick Charge 3.0 USB port.
This allows charging of your portable electronics such as tablets or
smartphones.
Plug the USB power cable of the electronic device into the
USB out port of the Freedom V2 battery
In order to initiate power output from the USB out port, you
must press the charge level/ reset button

Frequently Asked Questions Freedom V2 battery
My battery has lower than expected runtimes.
Battery runtime can be affected by several factors. Lower than
expected run times can be caused if using a heated tubing or heated
humidifier with your CPAP. For ideal battery performance it is
indicated to disable and/or detach your humidifier / heated tubing.
Battery runtime can be affected by higher pressure levels. Please
keep in mind that all run time testing is performed on a pressure
level of 10CmH2O
The CPAP device will work harder to maintain prescribed pressure
levels if your struggle with a mask leak. This in turn means that
your unit is also using more power to operate.
The type of your device will also affect battery runtime. A BiPAP
or VPAP will always use more power than a regular CPAP device.
My battery starts then stops working
In case your battery starts powering your unit but then shuts
down, make sure to reset the battery. If the battery continues
shutting down even after resetting, your unit may have a higher amp
power than what the battery can provide.
